​How to practice Heart Focused Breathing

1. Find a comfortable position to sit or lie down and close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so.

2. Focus on your heart area. Gently shift your attention to your heart area. You can place your hand on your chest to help maintain focus.

3. Inhale slowly through your nose for about 5 second, allowing your belly to expand through your mouth for 5 seconds. Maintain this rhythm, and find a steady pace.

4. As you inhale and exhale, imaging your breath moving in and out of your heart area. Picture a sense of warmth, light or calmness spreading with each breath.

5. To enhance the practice, recall a feeling or appreciation, gratitude, or love. This can help create a deeper sense of inner balance.

6. Practice this for about 3 - 5 minutes or longer if you feel you can. The more regularly you practice, the more benefits you may experience.
