How to stop food cravings in less than a minute!

Cravings can be tapped away fast with EFT.  Repeat this when you have a craving to eat something when you aren't physically hungry.  You may need to do it over 10 times one day and then not many the next.  But it works perfectly.  Really tune into what it is you are craving about the food, is it the taste, the texture, the way it makes you feel?

Have the food in front of you or visualise it.  Try to think back to a memory in your past where you would have been given this food, was it your mum or grandmother?  It made you feel loved at that moment.  The food is linked to your need for that loved feeling and feeling good.  If you can remember a time, keep that feeling and start to tap.  Don't worry if you can't remember just tap anyway, but it makes it more powerful if you can release that memory and just feel loved without the food.

Give your craving a rating 0 - lowest, 10 - highest.

Ask yourself how much you want to eat and give it an intensity level 0 – not wanting to eat – 10 desperate to eat.  Notice what feeling you are experiencing, for example exhausted, tired, stressed, angry, sad, upset, anxious, lonely, bored, depressed, etc.   Then tap the following and add the emotion that you are feeling.

  • Even though I feel so…………..and really want to eat, I know that nothing is going to stop this urge to eat.

  • Even though I feel so…………..and really want to eat, I choose to feel relaxed and calm.

  • Even though I feel so…………..and really want to eat, I choose to know that I am taking control of my eating.

  • I really want to eat

  • I have to eat

  • I feel so……………

  • Nothing is going to stop this urge to eat

  • I don’t want to deprive myself

  • I want to eat to make myself feel better

  • I need to eat to calm my emotions

  • I really want to eat

Now check your intensity level again and see if it has changed.  0 – 10.  If it is still high, then tap the above again.  Once your urge to eat has gone down to 5 or less, then follow the next tapping script.

  • Even though I still have this urge to eat, I choose to take control.

  • Even though I still need to eat, I know that I am trying to eat my feelings.

  • Even though I still need to eat, I choose to love and accept myself exactly as I am.

  • I still have this urge to eat

  • I just want to eat something and don’t know why

  • I know I will feel deprived if I don’t eat something

  • I will feel deprived later if I don’t eat now

  • And then I will end up eating more

  • But what if I acknowledge my emotions

  • What if I listen to my body’s needs

  • I choose not to suppress my feelings with food

  • I know food never makes me feel better

  • I know this need to eat when I am not hungry will come back later

  • But then I know I can tap it away

  • I choose to feel relaxed and calm around food

  • I choose to trust in this process

  • I choose to take control of my eating patterns and listen to my emotions

  • I am relaxed and calm

  • Every time I tap, I am changing my eating habits and find it easier to choose not to eat, unless I am physically hungry.

Repeat until the urge to eat has gone.  If it comes back again, then repeat this as often as needed. You will soon notice how your obsession about eating will disappear.
